Georgia State overwhelms South Alabama 85-65
ATLANTA -- R.J. Hunter scored 24 points as Georgia State won its 13th straight game, defeating South Alabama 85-65 Monday night.
Manny Atkins and Ryan Harrow had 20 apiece and Curtis Washington added 10 for Georgia State (16-6, 9-0 Sun Belt Conference). Harrow also had seven assists and four steals.
Georgia State, which shot a season-high 63 percent from the field, made 10 of 17 from beyond the arc. The Panthers held a commanding 41-25 halftime advantage.
South Alabama closed to 57-46, following a 3-pointer by Antoine Allen with 9:05 remaining in the game. Harrow answered with two free throws and Hunter followed with 10 points in less than four minutes to push the lead to 71-51.
Allen led South Alabama (7-15, 1-8) with 19 points. Augustine Rubit added 16 and Ken Williams contributed 10.
