Harvard beats Denver 68-60
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Steve Moundou-Missi dominated the inside game and scored 20 points Thursday night and Harvard beat Denver 68-60 to advance to face Green Bay Friday in the semifinals of the Great Alaska Shootout.
Harvard (5-1) out-rebounded Denver 38-23 and Moundou-Missi was able to score inside seemingly at will. Wesley Saunders scored 19 for the Crimson and had a game-high nine rebounds, and Kyle Casey added 10.
Brett Olson led Denver (0-3) with 16 points and Jalen Love added 12.
Denver opened with a 5-0 run, but Harvard tied it at 7 on a Siyani Chambers 3-pointer, then steadily pulled away to take a 36-26 halftime lead. Denver clawed back in the second half and Olson hit a jumper to make it a 4-point game, but Harvard went on a 10-2 run and the Pioneers got no closer than six down the stretch.
Tulsa plays TCU Friday in the other semifinals bracket.
