Western Illinois overpowers Greenville 76-49
MACOMB, Ill. -- Adam Link scored 16 points, leading four players in double digits, as Western Illinois overpowered Greenville in a 76-49 win on Saturday night.
The Leathernecks (2-4) shot 54.7 percent from the floor but hit just two of their eight attempts from beyond the arc, and put the game away by outscoring Greenville 41-24 in the second half. Jordan Foster scored 11 points, while Tate Stensgaard and Michael Ochereobia added 10 points apiece.
Greenville, an NCAA Division III team, trailed the entire game but narrowed the gap to just 10 points at the break before Western Illinois took advantage of the Panthers' 23 turnovers and ran away in the second half.
Tim Daniel paced Greenville with nine points and seven rebounds, while Tevin Rollins added eight points.
Western Illinois has beat Greenville in all four matchup since 2009.
