Pacific pulls away from Menlo 84-73
STOCKTON, Calif. -- Khalil Kelley scored a career high 27 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Pacific to an 84-73 victory over NAIA Menlo Saturday night.
Menlo opened up a 23-16 first-half lead on a Colin Wan 3-pointer. Pacific (8-1) responded, gaining a 44-37 advantage as the first half came to a close.
The Tigers opened the second half on an 8-0 run with Kelley scoring six during the spurt. Menlo cut the lead to six multiple times in the second half, but each time Pacific answered.
Pacific went on a 7-0 run to push the lead to 13 with 8:20 to go, and Menlo never made a serious threat for the remainder of the game.
Andrew Bock added 13 points for the Tigers while Ross River and Tony Gill each added 10.
Pacific outrebounded Menlo 46-26.
John Smith led Menlo with 24 points and Keith Bowman added 16.
