Elon defeats Appalachian State 83-76
BOONE, N.C. -- Lucas Troutman scored 21 points and Sebastian Koch added 17 as Elon topped Appalachian State 83-76 on Saturday.
Elon (12-11, 5-3 Southern Conference) led for nearly the entire game, mounting an 11-point halftime advantage and leading by as many as 17 in the second half.
Ryley Beaumont and Jack Isenbarger each added 14 points for Elon, which shot 55.8 percent from the field and 11 of 25 on 3-pointers. Troutman was 8 of 10 from the field while Isenbarger hit 4 of 6 from beyond the arc.
Appalachian State (6-15, 2-6) shot 53.1 percent from the field but went 15 of 24 from the free throw line. Chris Burgess led the Mountaineers with 19 points, while Mike Neal added 17 and Tab Hamilton had 15.
