Buffalo blows past Ball State 69-48
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Javon McCrea scored 19 points and hauled in 14 rebounds to lead Buffalo to a 69-48 blowout over Ball State on Wednesday night.
Buffalo (12-7, 6-3 Mid-American Conference) led most of the game but took control midway through the second half with a 12-2 run fueled by 10-for-10 shooting from the free-throw line to make it 60-41 with 5:34 to go. The Bulls then continued to pull away down the stretch.
Jarod Oldham contributed 17 points and Will Regan added 13 for the Bulls, who got 26 points on 35 attempts from the free-throw line compared to Ball State's 6 of 12. McCrea reached 1,800 career points in the win.
Ball State (4-16, 1-8) pulled to within two on a 3-pointer by Chris Bond that made it 31-29 early in the second half but couldn't keep up.
Bond led the Cardinals with 15 points.
