Colorado State runs away from Fresno State 76-57
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Daniel Bejarano scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half and Colorado State closed the game with a 14-1 run, beating Fresno State 76-57 Saturday night.
Colorado State (11-6, 2-2 Mountain West) used a 13-1 spurt to open up a 14-point lead with just over 6 minutes left in the first half and took a 38-27 lead into the break.
Fresno State (8-9, 1-3) trailed by as many as 13 twice in the second half but Paul Watson's 3-pointer with 8:30 to play made it 52-62. Bejarano's pair of free throws 16 seconds later started the Rams' final drive as the Bulldogs scored just one point in the final 8-plus minutes.
J.J. Avila pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds, tied a career-high with six assists and scored 13 points in the win. Jon Octeus scored 19.
Tyler Johnson led Fresno State with 21 points. Watson added 12.
