Prairie View outlasts Jackson State 85-80 in 2OT
JACKSON, Miss. -- Louis Munks scored 23 points and Montrael Scott added 15 as Prairie View A&M outlasted Jackson State 85-80 in double overtime Saturday night.
The Panthers (4-12, 2-2 SWAC) shot 42.9 percent from the field. Tre Hagood scored 14 points, Hershey Robinson had 11 and Demondre Chapman contributed 13 with nine rebounds.
Brandon West led Jackson State (5-12, 1-4) with 18 points and 11 boards. Julysses Nobles had 17 points and Derell Taylor chipped in 14.
Prairie View trailed by four late in regulation, but a Munks layup and two Hagood free throws tied it at 66 to force overtime. The Panthers took a four-point lead after a Chapman free throw in overtime, but Nobles sank four free throws to tie it at 74.
In double overtime, Munks drained a 3-pointer and a pair of Rasi Jenkins free throws pushed the lead to six with 25 seconds left.
