UNC Wilmington Seahawks @ Drexel Dragons
Allen's 17 lifts Drexel over NC-Wilmington 61-50
PHILADELPHIA -- Tavon Allen came off the bench to score 17 points, leading Drexel to a 61-50 win over North Carolina-Wilmington on Monday.
Chris Fouch added 16 points and Frantz Massenat 15 for the Dragons (12-10, 4-5 Colonial Athletic Association). The three high-scoring guards each had 5 rebounds with Massenat and Fouch combining for 9 assists.
Addison Spruill had 22 points but was the only player in double figures for the Seahawks (6-17, 0-8), who dropped their 12th straight.
A layup by Dylan Sherwood pulled the Seahawks within 42-41 with 8:24 left but after the teams swapped misses, Allen made layups on consecutive possessions and Massenat knocked down a 3 for some breathing room. The Dragons made 16 of 17 free throws.
Wilmington shot just 35.7 percent.
Two weeks earlier Drexel was down 13 at Wilmington but stormed back to defeat the Seahawks by 16.
