NEW ORLEANS -- Thomas Walkup scored a career-high 28 points and Desmond Haymon added 18 as Stephen F. Austin won its 23rd game in a row by crushing New Orleans 103-63 on Thursday night.
Walkup scored 16 points in the first half to help SFA to a 53-30 lead at the break. Walkup finished 13 of 16 from the field. Haymon made 7 of 12 field goals and dished out five assists.
Deshaunt Walker scored 14 points and Jacob Parker added 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Stephen F. Austin (26-2, 15-0 Southland), which has the nation's second longest winning streak. The Lumberjacks scored the most points of their season, surpassing the 98 points they scored against Samford on November 26. SFA scored 114 points against Howard Payne on November 10, 2010.
Isaac Mack scored 15 points and Kevin Hill added 13 points with 11 rebounds for New Orleans (11-12, 8-7).
