CONWAY, Ark. -- John Jordan scored 21 points and Rashawn Thomas added 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench to lead Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to an 81-66 win over Central Arkansas in a Southland Conference opener.
The Islanders trailed 19-12 with under 12 minutes left in the first half, took the lead with an 11-0 run and closed the half with a 27-8 run to go into intermission with a 39-28 advantage.
The hot-shooting Islanders were 28 of 55 from the field (50.9 percent), but were just 2 of 10 from long-range.
Jake Kocher contributed 13 points and Joy Williamson added another 12 for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4-10, 1-0 Southland)
Jalen Jackson scored 21 points to lead the Bears (3-9, 0-1), with LaQuentin Miles adding another 19. Central Arkansas was just 23 of 59 from the field (39 percent).
