PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Jabari Peters scored 26 points, with 15 coming at the line, as Sam Houston State escaped with a 108-103 double overtime win against Prairie View on Thursday night.
Sam Houston State made 16-of-19 free throws in the two overtimes to secure the win. Two free throws by Peters and another by Thomas put Sam Houston up 106-100 with 22 seconds to play.
Kaheem Ransom scored 19 points for Sam Houston (3-0), Terrance Motley had 14, Paul Baxter added 13 and James Thomas 10. It's the best start for Sam Houston since the 2008 season.
