Morehead State easily beats Tennessee Tech 79-53
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Drew Kelly scored 18 points as Morehead State easily defeated Tennessee Tech 79-53 Saturday night.
Morehead State, which has won 10 of its last 13 games, remains in second place behind Belmont in the Ohio Valley Conference East standings.
Angelo Warner, who had 9 points, now has 1002 career points at Morehead State (18-9, 9-3).
The Eagles held a 34-24 halftime lead, but Tennessee Tech opened the second half with four quick points to close to within six. The Eagles quickly stretched that back to a 10-point advantage and cruised to a 48-35 lead at the midway point of the second half. Tennessee Tech never threatened again.
Morehead State shot 55.1 percent from the field.
Greg Dotson had 14 points and Chad Posthumus, who averages 11.6 rebounds a game, had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Jeremia Samarrippas had 11 points and Dennis Ogbe added 10 for Tennessee Tech (13-14, 6-6).
