Eastern Kentucky beats Morehead State 76-65
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Corey Walden scored 19 points Saturday night, Glenn Cosey added 18 and Eastern Kentucky beat Morehead State 76-65.
Orlando Williams scored 14 and the Colonels (11-6, 2-2 Ohio Valley Conference) outshot the Eagles (11-7, 2-1) 44.4 percent to 43.9 percent.
Eastern Kentucky rallied to take a 13-11 lead on a trey by Timmy Knipp, but Morehead State's Chad Posthumus tied it at 19 on a dunk, and the Eagles pulled away. Marcus Lewis hit a trey to tie it at 33, Cosey added two free throws, and the Colonels led 35-33 at halftime.
Drew Kelly hit a trey at 17:01 in the second half to give the Eagles a 42-41 lead, but Williams replied with a trey, sparking a 9-2 run that the put the Colonels ahead for good.
Angelo Warner paced Morehead State with 17, Drew Kelly had 15, Brent Arrington 11, and Posthumus 10 rebounds.
