Liabo leads UT-Martin over Samford, 89-73
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Mike Liabo scored 16 points to lead six in double figures as UT-Martin defeated Samford 89-73 Wednesday night.
Liabo scored 14 of his points in the second half and UT-Martin (3-8) never trailed. Liabo made two free throws and Dee Oldham hit a 3-pointer to stretch the Seahawk lead to 81-65 with 4:34 to play. Oldam, who hadn't scored in his previous two games, hit two 3-pointers to go with his 10 points. Terrence Smith had a game-high six assists, one shy of his career best, and added 13 points for the Skyhawks.
Samford (3-7) would get within four points, 54-50 at the 14-minute mark when Russell Wilson made a layup and a free throw. Wilson finished with 11 points.
Tim Williams scored a game-high 20 points to lead four Bulldogs in double figures. Isaiah Williams added 11 points and a game-high seven assists.
