Monmouth comes back to beat Siena 63-59
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- Justin Robinson made four free throws in the final 30 seconds as Monmouth (N.J.) came back to beat Siena 63-59 on Thursday night.
Monmouth trailed by 10 early in the second half but went on a 20-4 run to take a 49-43 lead with 12:32 remaining.
Siena cut its deficit to three-points on two occasions in the final 3 minutes, but Monmouth sealed the win by making 6 of 8 free throws in the final 43 seconds.
Monmouth (7-7, 1-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) was led by Josh James with 11 points, Max DiLeo added 10 and Robinson finished with nine.
Rob Poole scored 21 points for Siena (5-9, 1-2), on 6-of-14 shooting, and had nine rebounds. The Saints out-rebounded Monmouth 42-34.
Siena led 34-28 at halftime after going on a 21-9 run over the last 9 minutes of the first half.
