UALR gets past Western Kentucky in overtime, 87-83
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Will Neighbour's layup with 15 seconds left in overtime gave Arkansas-Little Rock the lead and Josh Hagins sealed the win with three free throws and a steal with two seconds left as the Trojans knocked off Western Kentucky, 87-83 Thursday.
Hagins drilled a 3-pointer with 22 seconds left in regulation to cut the Hilltoppers' lead to one, 70-69. After Brandon Harris missed the second of two free throws, Hagins hit a jumper with eight seconds left to force overtime.
A senior from Grayshot, England, Neighbour finished with a career-high 32 points. Hagins and Kemy Osse each added 11 while James White scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Aleksej Rostov scored 20 points to lead Western Kentucky, with Harrison-Docks adding 14 and Harris 13.
UALR (9-8, 4-1 Sun Belt) swept both games with Western Kentucky (10-7, 2-2) a year ago, snapping a string of eight straight losses to the Hilltoppers.
