IPFW gets past IUPUI 90-75
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Luis Jacobo led a balanced offensive attack with 19 points as Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne took down IUPUI 90-75 Saturday.
IPFW (16-6, 4-1 Summit League) shot 56.5 percent from the field, and made 13 of 26 3-pointers.
The Mastodons hot shooting spurred them to a 44-29 halftime advantage, aided by 20-8 run to erase an early deficit and open a 30-16 lead.
IPFW continued to pull away in the second half, led by 11 second-half points from Jacobo.
Jacobo was 5 of 8 from long range in the game and Michael Kibiloski was 4 of 8 on 3-pointers to lead the Mastodons. Steve Forbes scored 16 while Pierre Bland had 16 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for IPFW. Kibiloski added 14 and Mo Evans had 10 points.
Khufu Najee led IUPUI (5-17, 0-5) with 20 points. Mitch Patton and Ja'Rob McCallum each added 18 while Marcellus Barksdale contributed 13 points.
