Eastern Kentucky handles IPFW 90-68
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Marcus Lewis scored 17 points to lead Eastern Kentucky over Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne 90-68.
Eastern Kentucky (9-4) got 16 points and nine rebounds from Eric Stutz and 11 points from Corey Walden. Glenn Cosey added 10 points and five assists for the Colonels.
IPFW (10-5) was led by Mo Evans with 13 points. Joe Edwards added 12 points and Isaiah McCray chipped in with 10 points.
Eastern used an 11-2 run in the first half, fueled by several fouls by IPFW and made free throws by McCray and Luis Jacobo, to open an 11-point halftime advantage at 46-35.
The second half saw more of the same. Eastern Kentucky went on a 17-6 run, punctuated by a Stutz 3-pointer, to extend a 15-point lead to 26 at 82-56 with 4:48 left.
The Colonels hit on 11 of 21 from beyond the arc and 59 percent overall from the floor.
