IUPUI defeats Cincinnati Christian 74-72
INDIANAPOLIS -- Ian Chiles scored 22 points, Marcellus Barksdale added a career-best 18, and IUPUI won its third straight with a 94-72 victory over Cincinnati Christian Tuesday night.
Chiles scored 18 points in the first half, and his layup at the 12-minute mark broke a 15-all tie. IUPUI (4-7) took a 51-35 lead into halftime and led the rest of the way. Barksdale, who averages a team-best 7.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, pulled in five rebounds and added three assists. Barksdale followed a previous career-high 17 points against North Carolina Central Saturday.
Donovan Gibbs grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Jaguars.
Cincinnati Christian pulled within 11 points on Mike Hill's Layup with 12:16 remaining, but did not get any closer. Hill scored a team-high 27 points to lead four Eagles in double figures.
It was the first-ever meeting between the schools.
