PEORIA, Ill. -- Walt Lemon Jr., scored a career-high 31 points to lead Bradley to a 68-57 win over Drake on Saturday.
Lemon made 12 of 20 shots, including 3 of 5 3-pointers, as the Braves (6-9, 1-1 Missouri Valley Conference) shot 52 percent from the field.
Senior Aaron Hawley, who elected not to play last season, came off the bench to lead Drake with a career-high 27 points. He made 9 of 13 shots, including 4 of 7 3's and all five of his free throws, but the other Bulldogs shot 8 of 26.
Bradley had a 32-10 advantage on points in paint and 16-2 in second chance points. The Braves also had 14 points on fast break with the Bulldogs getting none. And although Drake had 15 turnovers, Bradley cashed in for 27 points.
Drake never led with Bradley building a 17-point lead in the first half, which ended 34-28.
