Plomb scores 27 to lift Army over Lehigh 70-51
WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Tanner Plomb scored 27 points and made 5 of 6 from 3-point range on Wednesday night as Army defeated Lehigh 70-51.
Plomb also had six rebounds and Kevin Ferguson chipped in nine points and nine rebounds. The victory kept Army (12-10, 8-3 Patriot League) a game behind Boston U. in conference play, and moved the Black Knights within two games of first place American U.
Mackey McKnight had 16 points and six rebounds, and Tim Kempton chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds for Lehigh (12-12, 5-6).
McKnight made a free throw with 3:33 left which closed Lehigh within 60-51, but Army scored 10 straight points to finish the game.
Army held the Mountain Hawks in single-digit scoring until McKnight scored for Lehigh with 6:35 left in the first to make the score 25-11.
The Knights led 36-19 at halftime and kept their double-digit lead throughout most of the second.
