Columbia outlasts Colgate in 2OT 76-70
HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Alex Rosenberg scored 23 points and pulled nine rebounds as Columbia beat Colgate in double-overtime 76-70 Monday.
Columbia (8-6) recorded its first road win of the season and its first overtime win since 2004. Grant Mullins had 17 points, Maodo Lo added 14 and Luke Petrasek had 12 points.
Colgate (6-5) went up seven, 62-55, with 2:04 left after Damon Sherman-Newsome's layup, but Columbia rattled off the final seven points of regulation -- including Lo's layup to force overtime with 27 seconds left. Neither team scored in the last 3:31 of the first OT, and Rosenberg missed a jumper as time expired.
Austin Tillotson's layup with 12 seconds left in the second overtime drew Colgate within four, but Mullins drained a pair of free throws to ice it.
Colgate was led by Tillotson with 22 points. Sherman-Newsome added 15 points while Matt McMullen chipped in with 10.
