Harvard edges Boston University 79-68 in overtime
BOSTON -- Wesley Saunders scored 25 points and Harvard overcame a second-half rally from Boston University for a 79-68 overtime win on Saturday.
Harvard (9-1) outscored Boston (6-3) 13-2 in the overtime period, making 11 of 12 free throws.
The Crimson held a 60-50 lead with 5:58 left before the Terriers closed the gap. Two 3-pointers from John Papale in the final minute of regulation helped fuel the Boston comeback. Maurice Watson Jr. tied the game with 8 seconds left on a drive to the basket after Steve Moundou-Missi made 1 of 2 free throws. A final-second 3-pointer from Siyani Chambers was off the mark for Harvard.
Saunders had seven points in overtime while Boston went 1 of 7 from the field.
Kyle Casey had 19 points and 12 rebounds for Harvard and Chambers added 16 points.
Dom Morris scored 15 points for the Terriers and Watson had 14.
