Mullins' 28 carries Columbia past Army 81-64
NEW YORK -- Grant Mullins scored a career-high 28 points to lead Columbia to an 81-64 win over Army on Wednesday night.
Mullins was almost unstopped, hitting 10 of 14 shots, including 6 of 10 3-pointers. He also had four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Columbia (5-4) also got another strong game from junior sixth-man Alex Rosenberg. Averaging just over 15 points a game over the last three games, scored 15 again.
Kevin Ferguson, a 6-foot-10 sophomore, paced Army (1-6) with a career-high 19 points, hitting 8 of 10 shots. Kyle Wilson added 11.
After the Black Knights scored the first basket the Lions reeled off 11 points, seven from Mullins. Mullins and Meiko Lyles hit back-to-back 3's to make it 20-8 early in the game. When Zach En'Wezoh made a three-point play at the 7 minute mark for a 27-14 lead, Army never got within single digits again.
