Boston University Terriers @ UC Irvine Anteaters
Boston holds off UC Irvine 74-68
IRVINE, Calif. -- D.J. Irving scored a game-high 18 points to lead Boston to a 74-68 win over UC Irvine on Saturday night.
The Terriers (3-2) opened with a 15-0 run to build a lead that wouldn't be challenged until early in the second half when Luke Nelson hit a 3-pointer for UC Irvine to tie the game at 40, then followed it up with a jumper to briefly take the lead.
Travis Robinson put Boston back on top with a 3-pointer with 12:06 remaining, and the Terriers then padded and protected that lead. The Terriers hit 24 of 48 from the field, and 10 of their 18 attempts from beyond the arc.
Will Davis II led the Anteaters (3-3) with 12 points and eight rebounds. UC Irvine outrebounded Boston 36-29 but couldn't match their 3-point shooting, hitting just 4 of 13.
