Fordham holds off Lehigh 80-72
NEW YORK -- Branden Frazier scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Fordham held off Lehigh 80-72 Friday night.
The Rams (2-1) jumped out to an early 10-0 lead capped off by a layup and three free throws from Jon Severe.
The Mountain Hawks (1-2) climbed back to take a 32-20 lead with 5:03 remaining in the first half and led by three at the break.
Fordham used a 7-0 run to break a 56-56 tie midway through the second half and led by eight after a jumper by Frazier.
Lehigh pulled back within three as Tim Kempton hit a layup and Austin Price netted a 3-pointer with 1:19 to play.
Following a pair of Frazier free throws, Mackey McKnight made a jumper, but Frazier made three more free throws and Mandell Thomas put the game out of reach with a late dunk.
McKnight had a game-high 31 points for Lehigh.
