TULSA, Okla. -- Chad Frazier and Rod Rucker each scored 21 points as UAB held on for a 70-63 victory over Tulsa Saturday.
Frazier hit 6 of 13 from the field and 5 of 8 from 3-point range. Overall, the Blazers (13-6, 2/3 Conference USA) were 37.7 percent from the field and 79.2 percent from the line.
C.J. Washington chipped in with six points and 10 rebounds for UAB. The Blazers outrebounded Tulsa 50-35 during the contest.
Tulsa led by two at the break but UAB started the second period with a 13-7 run for a 46-42 advantage with 11:53 to play. Frazier hit a trio of 3-pointers in just under five minutes to give UAB a 58-50 lead with 4:43 remaining and Denzell Watts went 4 of 4 from the line in the final seconds to seal the win for the Blazers.
James Woodard led the Hurricane (9-11, 4-2) with 12 points.
