McDougald leads Jacksonville over Stetson 88-75
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Keith McDougald scored a career-high 27 points and Jacksonville topped Stetson 88-75 in an Atlantic Sun Conference game on Thursday night.
McDougald scored 18 first-half points as Jacksonville (7-9, 3-2) took a 43-37 halftime lead. The Dolphins went up by as many as 17 in the second half, led by RJ Slawson with 12 second-half points.
Slawson scored 15 and Jarvis Haywood added 14. J.R. Holder had 12 while Javon Dawson contributed 11 to a balanced offense.
Jacksonville shot 52 percent from the field in the game and hit 7 of 13 3-pointers in the second half. McDougald was 4 of 9 from long range, and his scoring output sent him over the 1,000-point mark in his career at Jacksonville.
Brian Pegg led Stetson (3-13, 1-3) with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Aaron Graham added 13 points, Glenn Baral had 11 and Raymone Andrews scored 10 for the Hatters.
