Mercer knocks off ETSU 73-63
MACON, Ga. -- Langston Hall scored 19 points as Mercer overcame a slow start to take a 73-63 win over East Tennessee State on Monday night.
Jibri Bryan contributed 16 points for Mercer (12-5, 3-1 Atlantic Sun Conference).
ETSU (8-7, 1-1) held a 15-1 lead at the 14:02 mark following a 3-point shot by Rashawn Rembert. That quickly changed as the Bears went on a 17-3 run to tie the score at 18 with 8:28 remaining in the first half. Mercer held a 37-29 lead at the half.
Hall opened the second half with a 3-point jumper and Mercer led 48-33. ETSU came charging back, thanks to nine points by A.J. Merriweather, to cut the lead to 53-51 with 7:50 remaining in the game. A three-point play by Ike Nwamu opened Mercer's lead back to 56-51.
Merriweather led ETSU with 20 points.
