Andrews lifts Stetson over Lipscomb 65-63
DELAND, Fla. -- Raymone Andrews scored 18 of his career-high 27 points in the second half, including four free throws in the final 39 seconds to play, as Stetson held off Lipscomb for a 65-63 win Monday night.
Khion Sankey's conventional three-point play with 1:58 remaining gave Lipscomb (5-7, 0-1 Atlantic Sun) its first lead in over 12 minutes of action, 61-59. The Bisons made just 1 of 5 from the field and 0 for 2 from the free throw line the rest of the way while Stetson converted all six of its free throw attempts to seal the victory.
Stetson (3-10, 1-0) made 17 of 34 field goals and 7 of 15 3-pointers to overcome 16 turnovers. The Hatters improved to 1-2 this season when shooting 50 percent or better.
Stetson's Willie Green added 10 points.
Sankey and J.C. Hampton scored 14 apiece. Martin Smith and Josh Williams each added 10.
