Samford powers to 75-58 win at Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tim Williams scored 25 points, nine in the first 13 minutes, to power Samford to its first road win of the season, a 75-58 win at Jacksonville Friday night.
Samford now has won four of its past six games.
Williams converted 12 of 13 shots from the field, mostly from the paint. Tyler Hood was 8 of 10 from the field and added 19 points while the Bulldogs (5-8) shot 32 of 55 (58.2 percent). Raijon Kelly had 13 points and Connor Miller grabbed 10 rebounds.
Javon Dawson scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Dolphins (3-7), who lost for the second time in five home games. Marcel White contributed 14 points and Marcellous Bell had 11 while Jacksonville struggled from the field, converting just 23 of 60 shots (38.3 percent), but was just 7 of 25 from the field in the first half.
