Murray State defeats Lipscomb 73-69
MURRAY, Ky. -- Jeffery Moss scored 14 points with three assists and grabbed five rebounds to help Murray State defeat Lipscomb 73-69 on Saturday.
Moss joined five other Murray State players in double digits including Jonathan Fairell, Cameron Payne, Dexter Fields and C.J. Ford all with 11 and Jarvis Williams with 10 and a team-high 13 rebounds. The Racers (4-5) sank 42 percent from the field overall and 59.5 percent from the line.
Murray State was up by as many as 10 points in the first period to lead 33-28 at the break. Lipscomb closed the gap to three at 17:49 in the second but would never get closer.
Moss and Fields combined for four 3-pointers within 10 minutes to give the Racers a 10-point advantage with 6:52 left to play.
Martin Smith scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Bisons (4-5).
