Mercer leads throughout in 81-54 win over Yale
MACON, Ga. -- Langston Hall scored 18 points and tied a career high with 10 assists, as Mercer got by Yale 81-54 on Saturday.
Jibri Bryan added 11 and three players chipped in 10 points for Mercer (4-2). Hall made four 3-pointers and Mercer was 21 of 23 from behind the arc.
Mercer's defense was the key. The Bears blocked seven shots, held Yale to 38 percent shooting, and grabbed 12 more rebounds. Mercer also got 34 points from its bench, compared to nine for Yale.
Justin Sears had a game-high 23 points for Yale (2-3) and Javier Duren added 13. The Bulldogs were 2 of 12 from 3-point range. Sears had 16 of Yale's 28 points at halftime.
Mercer led the entire game -- taking a 2-0 lead and pushing it to 41-28 at halftime.
