NEW YORK -- Ben Mockford scored 20 points as St. Francis (NY) built a 25-point halftime lead and cruised to a 79-56 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday.
St. Francis (18-13, 9-7 Northeast) raced out to a 35-11 halftime lead as Fairleigh Dickinson made just 3 of 22 before the break. The Knights' last field goal in the first half came with 9:09 left.
FDU (10-20, 6-10), which made just 3-of-19 3-point attempts and 17 of 26 from the line (65 percent), fared better in the second half, outscoring St. Francis 45-44, but the damage was already done.
Jalen Cannon added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Terriers. Brent Jones had 11 assists with his 11 points and Wayne Martin scored 12 points.
Matt McDonald led Fairleigh Dickinson with 13 points and Xavier Harris added 11 points and seven rebounds.
