NEW YORK -- Jalen Cannon scored 18 points, including 12 free throws, as St. Francis (N.Y.) beat New Jersey Institute of Technology 77-65 on Monday afternoon.
Aleksandar Isailovic had 13 points for St. Francis (8-5), Brent Jones added 10 points, six assists, five rebounds and Amdy Fall had five blocks.
Leading just 45-43, St. Francis went on a 10-0 run to take a 12-point lead with 10:04 remaining. Isailovic made a 3-pointer midway through the run and capped it with a layup. NJIT would not get any closer than nine points the rest of the way.
NJIT (6-8) was paced by Terrence Smith with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
