Columbia overwhelms Fairleigh Dickinson 82-59
NEW YORK -- Luke Petrasek scored 20 points on 6-for-8 shooting, including four 3-pointers, to lead Columbia to an 82-59 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday.
Maodo Lo and Alex Rosenberg contributed 14 points each while Grant Mullins added 12 and Jayde Dawson 10 for Columbia (7-5), which returned to action from an 11-day break by shooting 50 percent from the field. The Lions opened the game with back-to-back 3-pointers by Petrasek and Mullins that fueled a 10-1 spurt and a lead that never changed.
Fairleigh Dickinson (3-10) drew to within three points late in the first half on a layup by Malachi Nix that made it 20-17 but Columbia stormed back, closing out the half with a 13-4 run to take a 42-27 advantage into the break and then continued to pull away in the second half.
Sidney Sanders Jr. led Fairleigh Dickinson with 20 points and Jayde Dawson added 10.
