Presbyterian defeats Longwood 77-62
CLINTON, S.C. -- Jordan Downing scored 27 points and grabbed five rebounds as Presbyterian broke a 10-game losing streak by beating Longwood 77-62 on Wednesday night.
Reggie Dillard and Markus Terry added 15 apiece for the Blue Hose (5-19, 1-8 Big South). Ed Drew chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.
Presbyterian led 35-24 at the break and expanded its advantage into double digits early in the second. With a 63-58 lead and 2:25 left to play, the Blue Hose went 14-4 to finish for the win, their first conference victory of the season.
The Blue Hose shot 46 percent from the field overall, 90.3 percent from the line and 62.5 percent from 3-point range. They outrebounded the Lancers 43-31.
Tristian Carey and Jeylani Dublin led the Lancers (7-17, 2-7) with 14 points each.
