HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Javonte Green scored 23 points, leading Radford to an 81-72 win over High Point on Friday night.
Radford (12-5, 2-0 Big South) outscored High Point (4-11, 0-2) 43-26 in the first half, shooting 60 percent from the field. Green led the Highlanders with 12 points in the half.
High Point cut the deficit to 75-70 with 1:17 left on a Devante Wallace 3-pointer, but Radford went 6 for 8 from the line in the final 1:11 to prevent the Panthers from getting any closer.
Radford shot 53 percent from the field in the game, despite hitting only 2 of 11 3-point attempts. R.J. Price had 14 for the Highlanders. Rashun Davis scored 13 and Ya Ya Anderson added 11.
Adam Weary and John Brown each scored 21 points for the Panthers. Wallace contributed 12 and Dejuan McGaughy had 10.
