Furman rallies to defeat Presbyterian 74-59
CLINTON, S.C. -- Stephen Croone scored 24 points as Furman came back from a 10-point deficit in the second half to defeat Presbyterian on Saturday night.
Croone, a 6-foot-1 point guard, grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and had seven assists. Stephen Wideman added 21 points, 15 on 3-pointers. William Gates Jr. scored 12 points.
Keith Belfield hit two 3-pointers, his only points of the game, to bookend a 16-2 run that put the Paladins ahead 67-54 with 2:05 to go. Croone assisted on three of the 3-pointers during the run while adding a bucket of his own.
Furman shot 54 percent and hit half of its 22 3-point attempts.
Jordan Downing scored 21 points for the Blue Hose (3-8), but only six in the second half. William Truss added 16 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double this season while Danny Herrera scored 12 points. Reggie Dillard added nine assists.
