The Citadel takes down Presbyterian 82-68
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Ashton Moore scored 19 points and dished out six assists as The Citadel withstood a second-half comeback by Presbyterian for an 82-68 win on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs (1-2) saw Presbyterian (0-2) reduce a 16-point deficit late in the second half and come within three points of tying the game with under 4 minutes left. But Dylen Setzekorn responded with a 3-pointer as part of a 9-0 run, and The Citadel did not miss a free throw in the final two minutes of play to preserve the win.
Moore was joined in double figures by Matt Van Scyoc with 16 and Marshall Harris III with 14. Setzekorn added 12 points off the bench.
The Bulldogs drained 11 3-pointers, shooting 45.8 percent from long range.
William Truss scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for the Blue Hose. Jordan Downing and Reggie Dillard had 16 apiece.
