Campbell cruises over Shenandoah 87-62
BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Andrew Ryan scored 21 points and added five assists, as Campbell cruised to an 87-62 win over Shenandoah on Friday night.
The win gave coach Kevin McGeehan his first victory at Campbell. McGeehan is in his first year at Campbell after serving eight years on the coaching staff at Richmond.
Darius Leonard added 18 points and nine rebounds on 8-of-12 field goals for the Fighting Camels, while Reco McCarter had 12 points and six steals.
Campbell never trailed against Division III Shenandoah. Leading 28-21 in the first half, Campbell went on a 9-0 run and the Hornets trailed by double digits for the remainder of the game.
The Fighting Camels shot 57.6 percent from the field, with four players scoring in double figures.
Jimi Starks had 14 points and nine rebounds to lead the Hornets.
