LIU Brooklyn Liu Brooklyn vs Eastern Washington Eagles
Eastern Washington blows past LIU Brooklyn 102-70
IRVINE, Calif. -- Tyler Harvey scored 14 points, hauled in eight rebounds, and was among six Eastern Washington players to hit double digits in a 102-70 rout over LIU Brooklyn in the 2K Sports Classic on Saturday.
The Eagles (4-1) shot 64 percent from the field, opening the game with a 30-3 run to take a lead that would never be challenged. Venky Jois and Parker Kelly scored 17 points apiece, Drew Brandon and Thomas Reuter added 13 each, and Martin Seiferth had 12.
EWU was 11 of 17 (65 percent) from beyond the arc and outrebounded LIU Brooklyn 40-29.
Gerrell Martin led the Blackbirds (1-3) with 17 points and five rebounds.
The win marked the most points scored against a Division I opponent by EWU since a 110-100 win over Cal State Fullerton in 2006. Former Eagle Rodney Stuckey, who now plays for the Detroit Pistons, scored 27 points in that game.
