SAN ANTONIO -- Kannon Burrage scored 17 points and Jeromie Hill and Michael Hale III had 16 apiece as UTSA defeated Nicholls State 76-58 Saturday in a BracketBusters game.
Hill also had a season-high 12 rebounds for the Roadrunners (7-19), who built a double-digit lead in the first half and extended the margin to as many as 23 points in the second half.
JaMarkus Horace led Nicholls State (7-18) with 14 points and nine rebounds. Dantrell Thomas and Amin Torres added 10 points each. The Colonels were 6 of 21 on 3-point attempts and went to the free-throw line just seven times, converting four.
UTSA hit six of its first seven 3-point attempts to build a 23-13 lead. Hill was perfect on all three of his attempts and Hale made 2 of 3 during that stretch. The Roadrunners finished 9 of 23 beyond the arc.
