NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Steve Moundou-Missi came off the bench to score 17 points and lead Harvard to a 72-66 victory over Yale Saturday night in Ivy League action.
The first-place Crimson (17-7, 9-1) led 34-28 at halftime, but later trailed 57-51 on a 3-pointer by Yale's Austin Morgan. Harvard, however, responded with 10 unanswered points, concluding with a Christian Webster trey. Another Webster 3-pointer then put Harvard up 64-60.
Yale (11-16, 5-5) closed within 69-67 on two free throws by Matt Townsend (15 points) with 0:59 left. But Moundou-Missi made two foul shots with 0:32 left and Siyani Chambers one more at 0:06 to clinch it.
Harvard was a decisive 18 of 26 at the stripe, Yale 11 of 16.
Chambers and Wesley Saunders scored 14 points apiece for Harvard. Laurent Rivard added 13 and Webster 10.
Townsend and Javier Duren scored 15 each for Yale. Justin Sears added 12 off the bench.
