BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- George Fant had 15 points and nine rebounds as Western Kentucky snapped a three-game losing streak and earned a season sweep of Louisiana-Monroe 75-57 Thursday night.
The Hilltoppers (14-14, 8-9 Sun Belt Conference) won the first meeting 65-54, and jumped to a 34-22 halftime advantage Thursday while holding the Warhawks to 30.8-percent shooting (8 of 26) before the break.
Louisiana-Monroe (4-19, 3-14) improved to 41.4 percent (12 of 29) after intermission, but couldn't keep pace as Western Kentucky shot 60.9 percent (14 of 23) after halftime, including 6 of 9 from 3-point range.
T.J. Price added 15 points, Jamal Crook scored 13 and Brandon Harris had 12 on 4-of-8 3-point shooting for Western Kentucky.
The Hilltoppers finished 8 of 20 from 3-point range and made at least one trey for the 800th consecutive game dating back to March 15, 1987 -- the sixth longest streak in the country.
