MT. PLEASANT, Mich. -- Nathan Boothe had 19 points, Rian Pearson added 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Toledo used a 20-8 run to begin the second half to defeat Central Michigan 73-64 on Saturday night.
Julious Brown broke a 31-all tie after halftime with a jumper and before the Chippewas could react, Toledo (11-12, 8-4 Mid-American) took a 51-39 lead after Reese Holliday's lay-in with 10:32 to go. Brown ended his night with 13 points, eight assists and six rebounds for the Rockets, which have won six of their last seven games.
The Rockets shot 45.5 percent from the floor, but were just 5 of 17 from beyond the arc.
Kyle Randall had 21 points to lead Central Michigan (9-16, 2-10), which shot just 33.3 percent from the field but was 20 of 25 from the free-throw line. Blake Hibbitts had 11 points and seven rebounds while Chris Fowler scored 12 and added four assists.
