SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Raheem Appleby scored 17 points, Alex Hamilton added 15 off the bench and Louisiana Tech coasted to a 76-54 victory over San Jose State on Thursday night.
Appleby made three 3-pointers, while Hamilton had eight assists, six rebounds and four steals. Brandon Gibson chipped in 13 points for the Bulldogs (17-3, 8-0 Western Athletic), who won their ninth consecutive game.
Aalim Moor had 14 points and D.J. Brown 11 for the Spartans (9-10, 3-5), who were without leading scorer James Kinney due to a suspension. Kinney's average of 20.6 points per game ranks 11th in Division I.
San Jose State kept the game close for most of the first half, but Louisiana Tech's late run gave the Bulldogs a 28-23 halftime lead. They came alive in the second half, pulling away with a 16-3 run capped by Hamilton's fast-break layup that made it 66-43 with 4:39 to play.
