POCATELLO, Idaho -- Tomas Sanchez capped a career-high 22-point performance with a game-winning jumper with 4 seconds left, lifting Idaho State to a 60-59 victory over Sacramento State on Thursday night.
Sacramento State led 59-56 after John Dickson's layup with 21 seconds to play. Sanchez's layup made it 59-58 before the Hornets' Julian Demalleville was fouled and missed the front end of a one-and-one. Sanchez grabbed the rebound with 9 seconds left and drained the jumper at the other end.
Sanchez was 8 of 16 from the field, including 4 of 8 from 3-point range, for the Bengals (4-12, 3-4 Big Sky). Chris Hansen added 15 points and Melvin Morgan had 11.
Dickson, who came in averaging a team-leading 13.9 points per game, had 19 for the Hornets (8-7, 3-4), and Mikh McKinney chipped in 14.
Idaho State trailed by as many as 10 in the second half before rallying for the win.
