DURHAM, N.H. -- Mike Black tallied 22 points and had six rebounds while Sam Rowley posted his third straight double-double as Albany (N.Y.) beat New Hampshire 68-62 Wednesday night in America East Conference play.
Rowley, in just his third start for the Great Danes (15-4, 4-1), finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Albany, which has won six of its last seven games, handed New Hampshire its seventh consecutive loss.
Chris Matagrano led New Hampshire (4-12, 0-4) with 15 points but Chandler Rhoads, who entered averaging 10.7 points, was held to three on 1-of-9 shooting as the Wildcats fell to 0-9 when opponents shoot over 40 percent. Albany shot 43 percent (22 of 51) from the floor and nailed 21 of 29 free throws.
Albany led 30-16 at halftime. New Hampshire cut it to 38-37 but the Great Danes used an 11-2 run to go back on top for good, 49-39.
